Dear Rebels,
How are your Marching Hearts?
I hope this NEW mighty month has popped you back on your perches and you are feeling more fabulous than February?
I approach with a wee reminder we are back LIVE on air tonight with a chat to archeologist, under water explorer and expedition film maker, Trevor J Wallace at 6PM CET - tonight on @openlab.fm
Trevor took a serious tumble recently and his TED X Dalt Vila prep took a slight hit, as he needed surgery for his shoulder, but he is back in action now, excavating a site under the Balearic Sea just off of Menorca.
It isn´t the first time he has come a cropper. In fact in a project in Siberia he experienced nerve damage and has some pretty spectacular tales to tell, which I will not spoil for you, if you plan to tune in, if not it comes out on my podcast:
The Reset Rebel as Episode 207 next week.
His TEDx talk later this month focusses on Archeology and using it as a way of fact finding but also Truth seeking and there is no fast fix when it comes to a dig, but he explains why we need Archeology in times like these, when everyones basically full of shit and so is the internet and getting to the heart of the matter, to find REAL truth, is Nigh on impossible! I LOVED our chat & I can´t lie, I think he might just be my favourite speaker now after this conversation.
Now, Life has a way of leading us into the unknown…. as Mr Steve Jobs famously once said, we can´t see where the dots join up looking forward, only after we go through the ride and look back once again.
So, In some way, we are all intrepid explorers —seeking, discovering and uncovering new perspectives through transformative paths.
Coco Francavilla, tells me in our latest Reset Rebel talk, that lands tomorrow how she became an explorer—of sound—on her journey to uncovering the Posidonia in Ibiza when she moved from Italy, her home, and she will take us on a LIVE journey through sound later this month on stage as part of her talk.
For 25 years, as a composer, artist, and sound engineer, she has been immersed in the music world—fascinated by how art and science intertwine.
She says, she has “explored sound not just as music, but as something deeper—how it can unite, heal, and inspire us” and in essence that is what led her to create MusicfortheSea.org her NGO which, if all goes to plan, should be acknowledged by the UN soon. Which is very exciting!!
Coco, very kindly invited me on an expedition in early Spring to witness the deployment of the Hydrophone which will log the noise interference in the Balearic Sea and enable her to gather data to show how we need to change the way we use and abuse the sea for tourism here on the island.
If you ever were on the fence for a ticket to join us, get on board now, we have just a handful left at www.tedxdaltvila.com.
And….lastly, I have had almost no time to make any podcasts lately apart from the TEDx Ones, but our next course dates for Ibiza Podcast Courses are OUT!
I will be recording and producing a brand new audiobook for the Brilliant Ben Dunwell, in April, but in May I am back in teaching action and I will be ready to teach lots, both in London and here on the island.
Stay Tuned for more details on the courses and what is in store for the October Ibiza Podcast in Paradise Retreat, which I am now in the final stages of planning.
Love and Excitement and so much anticipation for TEDx very very soon,
Un ABRAZO,
Jo x
